3. Use of the forums is a privilege, not a right.
4. The Staff consists of all Administrators (Admins) and Moderators (Mods) (includes supermoderators).
5. All Moderators are subject to the final decisions of Administrators.
6. All violations of Rules are to be reported to the Staff by users: private messages, bad post tags, and email is encouraged for notification.
7. Multiple accounts and account sharing are forbidden: one account per person.
8. This document is subject to change at any time by the Staff without notice to or consent of users.
• General Forum Rules1. Use common sense: just because it isn't explicitly stated as one of the rules below doesn't mean it's OK. Use common sense and good Netiquette when posting, replying and browsing these forums. This includes the following:
- Be courteous, polite, and respectful of others' opinions.
- No posts for the sole purpose of increasing your postcount.
- Keep replies on topic.
- No "senseless" posts. Yes, its subjective. As a subjective way to help understand, if a coherent conversation cannot be read in the thread, it might be senseless.
- Keep the forums free from SPAM. This means no SPAM posting, no personal messaging SPAM, no SPAM in signatures or elsewhere in your profile. SPAM includes unsolicited messaging. If it takes you hours to send hundreds of Personal Messages, it is still SPAM. Also, please do not reply to SPAM, just report it or leave it for the Staff to clean up.
- No cross posting. Refrain from posting the same question to multiple forums. Cross posting clutters up the forums and makes things like searching harder for other users. If you feel your thread could fit in multiple forums, please pick the best one and post there. Please do not post about the same subject multiple times.
- Do not openly argue with a moderator. Contact the Moderator via a private message.
2. No Harassment: words, conduct or action, usually repeated or persistent that, being directed at a specific person, threatens, annoys, alarms, or causes substantial emotional distress or discomfort in that person and serves no other purpose is strictly forbidden.
- No excessive offensive language. Using excessive offensive language (the bad words that we all know so well), in any context, is not allowed here. Posts containing offensive language may be edited and/or deleted by the Forum Moderators and Warnings may be issued as appropriate. Repeat violations of this policy may result in more severe actions, up to and including Permanent Banning.
- No racism. Topics/posts that contain or exhibit any form of racism, whether direct or indirect, overt or implied shall immediately be deleted or edited. Violations of this policy may result in Permanent Banning without Warning.
3. Illegal activities. Aspects of this project are hosted in the U.S. and, as such, must abide by U.S. laws. Permitting discussion of illegal activities may expose the BattleFront Community to unnecessary legal liability. Therefore discussion, or posting, of illegal activities is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Links to unacceptable content. Content of off site links must fall within the scope of the standard established by these forum guidelines.
- Piracy, warez, leaked content.
- Pornography, or anything else considered "not safe for work".
- Copyrighted material.
Signature Rules- Your signature cannot stretch out the page
- Your avatar cannot distort the page
- You may NOT put userbars in your signature you have not earned
- It is at the admins discretion to remove a signature, we'll leave a note telling why
• Violation Punishment1. Administrators/Moderators reserve the right to change/edit/delete any content at any time they feel it is inappropriate.
2. All banned users with legitimate challenges have the right to plead their cases to the Staff. The Staff is under no requirement to reverse or edit its original decision.
3. Banning temporarily is preferred over permanently for users who display willingness to participate as full and Rule following users.
4. Permanent banishment is arrived at by consensus. Deliberation will occur during a period of temporary banishment.
